Our Story

Tadhg & Co. is the realised dream I first had at university, when I created a very rough sketch of a polo themed belt buckle. 

After a few years of procrastinating with the idea and the world of corporate work coming first, I knew the time was right. I was intent on creating a buckle with the most transparent production journey, and that was made in the UK as much as possible. 

Having found a leather supplier, it was now time for the meat of the project… the buckle. Trust me, what I haven’t learnt about metal casting in the last few years isn’t worth knowing…! Designs needed tweaking, metals needed testing and it was about the point where I was creating prototypes myself in my mother’s oven  (Thanks, Mum!), that I finally got the right recipe. 

I am so proud of what Tadhg & Co. has become, and the journey I’ve been on to get here makes the final products all the sweeter! My mother is also grateful that the buckles are no longer made in her AGA…
